Bring Virgin Cable to the village

internetA couple of local residents are campaigning to bring Virgin Cable to the village. The internet capacity of cable would be multiples of the current non cable capacity.

Virgin Media held a ‘Community Information Event’ recently at Lough Moss Leisure Centre, Carryduff, with a view to expanding their network into our area. They have apparently installed a node at Ballylesson Road, as part of their roll-out to BT8.
The install is currently not going down Ballylesson Road or to the Village as far as we can gather, but since Virgin Media are a demand driven business with a roll-out budget, they use a sign-up service (called “cable my street”) for interested parties in order to direct their resource to the demand.
