We have received notification form the council that works on the RDP improvements are due to commence on 10th May and run to the end of June. During the period of the works there will be no access to the green & play park.
Unfortunately it has not been possible to deliver everything included in the October consultation. This was due to the original tender coming back over budget. Due to the timescales involved on the project the council had 24hrs to submit a revised tender, therefore the revisions were carried out without consultation with the village or committee.
As part of the changes the council have elected to remove the highest cost items and focus attention on the green. This has resulted in the fencing to the field being removed along with the additional village signage. In addition the football posts were also removed form the scheme. While the committee have challenged this decision they have been assured these removals were unavoidable.
Following the consultation period there were a number of queries raised on the hard standing and while alterations were not permitted due to the tender process the committee have worked with the council to decrease the size of the hard standing and increase the volume of planting around this and the store shed in order to soften the visual impact.
We are not in possession of the final drawings however once available we will publish these to the website and noticeboard. In the meantime I have included details of the additional equipment to be included in the playpark. For further information on the piece of equipment you can visit:
