June 2011 – Flowers
Making the Edenderry Village look prettier was a big issue raised by the survey. So John White arranged for Lisburn City Council to donate flowing plants. Pat and John spent a day planting the flowers mainly around the village square.
Here a few before and after images, a big improvement.
It was lovely to see the wonderful baskets and displays of flowers around the village this year, it really brightened things up. These were noticed and commented on by a number of my visiting friends who come to the village every Sunday to go for a walk. Many thanks to all those who made it happen and I hope it will be repeated next year. Wouldn’t it be lovely if some wild flower seeds could be planted somewhere in the village or on the drive in, that would come up every year and need to be maintained?
